A total turnover of 8 billion and 240 million euros, with an increase of + 5.5% compared to 2020.
Important results for the sector, but for 2022 the difficulty in finding raw materials weighs.

The sector of automatic machines for wrapping and packaging can be said to be satisfied: 2021 recorded a total turnover of 8.24 billion euros with a growth of 5.5% compared to 2020. This is a surprising result if we consider the critical issues that undermined much of last year.
The export figures are excellent: the Italian manufacturers of packaging technologies are confirmed to be very active, recording a turnover of 78.4% equal to 6.46 billion. The European Union is the main destination of made in Italy machines, showing 2.15 billion in revenues and absorbing 40.8% of the entire export.
As for 2022, the scenario is difficult (the first quarter marked a decline of 4.4%), but orders (+ 8%) and 6/7 months of guaranteed production allow us to be cautiously optimistic. 2022 is difficult due to expensive energy, expensive transport, scarcity of raw materials and components, which are putting a strain on production and deliveries.
