The restart of Cassoli Group: creating and developing business also in other market segments. Second part.
THE 2000s
CPS Company was founded in 2002, amidst the general crisis and uncertainty that hit the world in those years. The will to start from scratch, also by exploring new markets, strong in inventive and innovative skills, is not lacking.
Unable to return to the tissue market for 5 years, the Cassoli family sets out to find what could be interesting for doing business, something new for the market, which takes into account the value of 40 years of experience in the packaging sector.
After analysing potential, difficulties and scenario variables, a glimmer of light opens up in the beverage sector.
THE BIRTH OF ECOCAP’S, THE RESTART OF CPS COMPANY
A fortunate connection with a company from Pontecchio Marconi, developer of an automatic machine for heat-sealing an aluminium foil (subsequently called TopSyl by the Cassolis) on cans intended for beverages, with advantages in terms of safety, hygiene and communication, is the incipit of a new path.
An innovative machine that immediately fascinated the members of the Cassoli family, even though it was intended for a market for which they had no specific experience.
Determination and willingness to get involved convince the whole family to accept the proposal to enter into a partnership with the Pontecchio Marconi company and to bet on the project.
Simultaneously with the technological and corporate development of CPS Company, it was possible to give impetus to another company in a different sector.
In 2003 Ecocap’s was founded, a company of which the Cassolis hold 40% and the founders 60%.
At the basis, the desire to industrialize the machine prototype, increasing its production capacity, up to over 1,000 cans per minute and rebuilding the commercial network that will deal with the sale of TopSyl in a totally new market (customers, machines, materials).
At the beginning of 2012 Cassoli becomes the majority shareholder and in 2013 takes over the entire company.
While Ecocap’s takes its first good results, also thanks to the design of more performing models and organizational renewals, CPS continue to seek ideas and solutions to ensure the constant growth of the company. In fact, the development of the first “Never Done Before” solutions in tissue dates back to this period, so as not to be unprepared for when it will return to the market.
